Posted by sew4tejhtr6ier Jumat, 17 Mei 2013 0 komentar

Kate - "I wanted to create an inspiration board for a living room that featured these gorgeous chairs in Mandarin Dragons from Design Legacy. I used some of the colors from the fabric—pink, orange, and green. The room has a very Palm Beach feel to it. The green pineapple lamps by Jean Roger are from 1stDibs. The persimmon Martini side tables are from West Elm. The Rouge coffee table is from CB2. The Greek Key rug is from Jonathan Adler. The painting is by Kerry Steele. You can follow me on Pinterest here."

The winner of the gorgeous chevron blanket from Charlotte & Ivy is Teresa from Splendid Sass. Congratulations! Please email me.

9 Palm Beach Chic Inspiration Boards

Living Room
With the passing of Lilly Pulitzer this past week, Palm Beach style has been very much in the news. I think you will see interior designers feature the Palm Beach look in the next year in homage to her. Coincidentally, I have been doing guest posts over at The Glam Pad the past 2 months featuring my virtual makeover of the historic Chinese Village House in Coral Gables currently on the market. Here are the 8 rooms I have done inspiration boards on to date all in Palm Beach Chic.

Head over to The Glam Pad to see today's 9th board - the upstairs landing and hall. For each inspiration board, you can click on the caption to be linked to the original post for details on the room. BTW, I did the porch with furniture from the Lilly Pulitzer home collection.

Chinoiserie Chic Mention in Lonny

Posted by sew4tejhtr6ier Minggu, 14 April 2013 0 komentar

Lonny Magazine sat down with West Palm Beach CIRCA WHO owner Tracy DeRamus to chat about Palm Beach Chic, design influences, biggest sellers, and current trends and she mentioned Chinoiserie Chic. Here are excerpts from the interview and photos of her fabulous store.

Q: Favorite design blog, website, or TV show?

A: I would be lost without the bloggers and the magazines that have mentioned CIRCA WHO. They are all a huge part of why the shop is where it is today. It all started back in 2006 when Celerie Kemble mentioned CIRCA WHO in her Shopping Dixie list for domino. Thank you, domino, Coastal Living, Southern Living, LUXE, ELLE DECOR, Lonny, and blogs Stylebeat, Georgia James, The Glam Pad, and Chinoiserie Chic, just to name a few.

Q: What are your current best sellers?

A: Pieces with fretwork, faux bamboo, chinoiserie, or pagoda details. This year I've also added more color. I've always fallen in love with the piece, not the original color or the fabric, but after seeing how my clients revamp their CIRCA WHO items, it's inspired me to be more adventurous.

Q: Biggest design influence?

A: CIRCA WHO is very influenced by the designs of the '70s and by designers such as Dorothy Draper, William Haines, and Frances Elkins, but interpreted in 1970s Palm Beach. I just love design. It doesn't matter when it was made (the CIRCA) or who made it (the WHO). I buy it because I love it!

The Chinese Village House - watercolor by Laura Mullaney
Over a month ago, Andrea of the fabulous blog The Glam Pad discovered a historic Chinoiserie house on the market for the first time in 30 years near where she lives in Coral Gables, Florida. She invited me to do a series of guest posts on how I would decorate this Chinoiserie home.

In week one, I renovated the entryway. In week two, I transformed the dining room. Week three was the kitchen and week four, the porch. Today is the guest bedroom. Check back next week, as I share my inspiration for the home office.

Zebras and Palm Beach Chic

Posted by sew4tejhtr6ier Senin, 18 Februari 2013 0 komentar

Do you love zebras? They are so Palm Beach Chic. I scored this beautiful finished needlepoint on Etsy yesterday that I will have made into a pillow. Think needlepoint is too old school? Not me. I love it. Designers like Jonathan Adler use lots of needlepoint but in a more modern way. I'm thinking about a great black and yellow trim on this to edge it up a bit.

Check out my Pinterest board on Zebras here. And go pop over and see my inspiration board today on The Glam Pad - my first post in a series on how I would makeover the Chinese Village House in Coral Gables, Florida. Click here to see my vision for the entryway and the main hall - there are zebras galore! Next up in the series will be the dining room.
