*Please note that in all my examples I am suggesting the wider widths of the trim. The biggest mistake people make is not with skimping on the quality, but the width. Go wide as opposed to skinny with your Greek key trim for a luxury high end look, especially on curtains.*

Another great choice is Lewis and Sheron Textiles. Their Athena tape at $15.00 a yard and wider Greek key tape at $20.00 a yard are excellent quality.

Navy Greek Key Trim - High/Low

I am crazy about using navy Greek key to trim curtains. Black or gray is also gorgeous. The best tip is that it can be easily sewn on by you or your dry cleaners to inexpensive ready made curtains to make them look incredibly expensive. One of my favorite tricks is the Ikea Aina in linen for $49.99 available in white, natural, gray, and pink. I used these in pink and trimmed them in navy Greek key for a client and they came out gorgeous - a very high end look. Keep your eyes open for Greek key trim on sale too - I just bought a zillion yards of Greek key trim at my local Jo- Ann's for $1.5O a yard. Tomorrow I will do a post on sourcing Greek key trim.

charlotte moss trims

charlotte moss recently introduced a new line of trim and fabrics available

at calico corners. the fabrics are feminine and traditional, and would look

great mixed with graphic prints and stripes, but what i am really loving are

a few of the trims:

my favorite is this one: a 2" fretwork inspired trim called "berlin".

it is available in 6 colors.

i also adore this one, (also around 2") called "munich"

there is also this cording (piping/welting) available in 11 colors.

here are a few great ways to use those wide trims and the cording:

i adore the look of trims added to the edge of curtains panels. it add another layer of

detail in a room that adds so much to a room.

this patterned roman shade gets a more tailored looks with the

addition of trim on the bottom.

cording/welting/piping on edge of a pillow can really make a pillow eye-catching.

my clients house is coming along nicely. oh, how i LOVE building houses!

my husband was in the residential construction industry for a decade, and in addition to the many custom homes we built for our clients, we also built two personal homes and remodeled another three. i LOVE all phases of new construction, but my favorite is when the trim carpenters show up. i love seeing sketches like this...
