Christina Aguilera speaks out about separation from husband

After Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman made headlines announcing their separation, the pop sensation decided to split from her husband of five years.

The singer, 29, has issued the following press release: "Even though Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max is still just as strong."

Christina and son Jordan was born in January 2008. The couple were married in 2005 and first met in 2002 when Jordan, 33, produced by one of his albums.

They have not decided whether to divorce and remain good friends. For now the couple lives out to see how the separation works and what next steps.
