New Zealand Director Jackson Warns 'The Hobbit' May Move Offshore

New Zealand director Peter Jackson will be warned Thursday that could "The Hobbit" films transferred because of a dispute between unions and filmmakers - WELLINGTON (Dow Jones).

"Next week, Warner Brothers, in New Zealand to take to move production abroad," Jackson said in a joint statement with Fran Walsh, with whom he produced the films.

Jackson said the dispute had "confidence in Warner Brothers' New Zealand undermine a stable work environment" and are "very concerned about the security concerns of its 500 million dollar investment."

Earlier this month, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. adopted together, "The Hobbit" and said shooting will begin in February 2011.

Jackson said: "We will continue to fight to keep the film in New Zealand", but said ultimately the decision belongs to Warner Brothers
