the GOOD MOOD (board) project: master bedroom

so, as my previous post stated, i was so inspired by the beauty of the ocean and black cliffs in hawaii, that i wanted to create my master bedroom around the shades of blues, greens, and blacks that i saw. ideally, this room would have 9 or 10 foot ceilings, with coffering. the floors would be herringbone hardwood, and the windows would be large and cover the expanse of one wall.

the jill rosenwald fallon rug in grey would add a nice contrast to the herringbone hardwood floors and add a soft graphic pattern.

the color palette of the room is set with the floral fabric , which features soft greens, grays and blacks and subtle pops of blue. to keep the room feeling serene and sophisticated, i would opt to paint the walls a soft oyster color.

i love the shape and rugged yet refined look of this headboard, but to save some money, i would make this myself using fencing from a home improvement store, i really like how the curves in the headboard contrast with the straight lines of the other furniture.
i would opt to keep the bedding simple and white, with accent pillows in flocked trellis and pikake patina.

while i adore the finish and style of these nightstands, i would opt to buy two malm dressers from ikea, add the greek key trim and paint them to replicate this look. (and, in the process save myself a grand or two.) topped with a pair of affordable and chic glass column lamps will add balance and symmetry. for added contrast between the walls, i would recover the shades in black linen.

silk curtains in the color "elfin" would add some subtle shimmer to the room and tie in with all the accent fabrics.

the beaded basket chandelier would add a punch of a deeper teal, and add interest and texture.

the duncan cocktail ottoman , or a similar vintage bench would sit at the foot of the bed, while the siene lounge chair in antique black, paired with a brass reading lamp would create a cozy reading nook. the liana pillow would be a great accent here.

a soft blue dresser would provide storage. above the dresser, i would place the felecie mirror, which references the curves in the headboard, and adds some feminine flair.

be sure to check out cassity's and beth's boards as well!

*and wish me luck on that trip back home today...i may just attempt to hide out in the airplane bathroom, hoping to catch a one way ride back to paradise!
