Spring is popping out all over in DC with star magnolias, camellias, and cherry blossoms in bloom everywhere. Bring these wonderful colors into your home all year long with a beautiful abstract floral painting by Kerry Steele. I love the idea of a striking piece of art above a bar cart - the "in" piece of furniture now. My inspiration board shows one of Kerry's paintings currently available - "Babylon" with a great pink bar cart from Furbish and a pink Chinese Chippendale chair from the Lilly Pulitzer home collection. Visit Kerry's Etsy shop to see the paintings below and more of her current work. Shown below are some of her abstract florals I love.

Update - Kerry just added this abstract floral below and I love it - it reminds me of cherry blossoms and the colors are gorgeous.

My daughter Kate sent me this last night from her iPhone and I had to share it. She has topped her blue and white Josef Frank chair with a coral pink Mongolian lambskin pillow. In the background you see her pagoda etagere with her collection of blanc de Chine - all white figurines including Chinese zodiac figures and foo dogs. Kate has wonderful Pinterest boards you can follow here.

I love flamingo art. The Pink Pagoda has two darling new giclees - Palm Beach Chic Flamingos in Hot Pink and Coral. These can of course be ordered in right and left facing to create a pair. These would be wonderful anywhere - a living room, dining room, nursery, breakfast room, beach house, powder room - I must find a spot in my house.

I was in HomeGoods a couple days ago and spotted these fantastic gold faux coral garlands for $12.00. I created quite a Tony Duquette moment in my dining room. I picked up a second one too that I think I will spray paint coral pink for a different look in the spring or summer.

Have you weighed in on Mary McDonald's office redo here? I was inspired to do my own inspiration board of an office update for her. I stuck with her new gray and coral palette that I love, with a mix of modern and vintage elements -

Meg Braff's Wallpaper Un Reve de Chine in White on Silver Mylar
Strut Large Table in Watermelon for the desk
Kartell Louis Ghost Chair in Black
Vintage Fornasetti Leopard Ottoman for her love of leopard and for an additional work surface
Silver Pagoda Lamps reminiscent of the pair in her previously blue office

My daughter Kate has been decorating her apartment for the holidays and I thought you'd like to take a peek. She uses great colors and lots of Chinoiserie. Don't you love her coral pink Christmas tree and her bar cart?
